Values are
the backbone,
the heart —
the point.
These values shape my approach…
Recovery-oriented
All people deserve respect, dignity and trauma-informed care that is rooted in the best and highest quality of care that the fields of psychology & psychotherapy can offer.
Constantly Learning
I believe that there are multiple ways of learning, including scientific observation and discovery, ancestral and indigenous practices, & spiritual, existential exploration. I believe that growth for each person or group involves willingness to learn from the innumerable places from where information flows.
Process-based
As a behaviorist, I believe that people learn about how to live in the world… but not everything that we learned is helpful. I help individuals, groups and teams observe the rules & assumptions that they are living by, and make meaningful changes that allow them to develop more effective behaviors in service of their chosen values.
Justice
Recognizing the impact of power and privilege on society, communities and individuals, I seek to divest from the ways that I benefit from those systems, and instead amplify the voices of the marginalized while advocating for right community/society.
Empowerment
I explore the impact of colonization and oppression on communities and individuals, considering where new learning plays a part in the healing, empowerment and liberation of people.
